Invena
was founded in 1998 by Matt Wilson in sublet office space
in Grande Prairie, Texas as a small two-person consulting
firm writing operation and maintenance manuals for a large
oilfield services firm. Over the next three years, Invena
sold design and drafting services by the hour, and also provided
contract drafters at client locations. Matt’s mother,
Carma, took calls and handled bookwork from her guest bedroom
in his hometown of Eureka, Kansas.
In
2000, Invena acquired property at 416 East Fifth Street in
Eureka and moved in later that year to the completed portion
of the building. The Company hired a third employee and organized
as a Subchapter S corporation later that year.
Invena’s
manufacturing operations launched in 2001 with the design
and construction of a specialized shock-mounted computer enclosure
that mounted beneath the sleeper of Peterbilt trucks. The
sleeper enclosures were fabricated by a local subcontractor
and assembled in the still-unfinished shop of the old Santa
Fe depot that was to become a landmark in the community. A
grand opening in December 2004 marked completion of our headquarters
building, and operations have expanded into two other buildings
on the property and rented space in a nearby facility. We
recently renovated a second building to facilitate growth
in the distribution segment, and acquired a fourth 22,500sf
manufacturing facility to support our incredible growth in
the manufacturing area.
As
the company continues to design and manufacture equipment,
the need to support the equipment in the field has spawned
a sizable field service and parts distribution business. The
company’s tremendous success in this area led to agreements
with several multinational corporations to service and support
their fleets of equipment in the field.
Today,
Invena has customers in twelve countries and nineteen employees.
